Laboratory and Research Safety

The Laboratory and Research Safety Division (LRS) of the Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) was established in 2022 to support the needs of our academic and research community. LRS strives for safety and excellence, providing a comprehensive safety program that protects the Penn State community, supports scientific discovery, and instills a strong foundation in safety principles in our students, faculty, and staff.  LRS collaborates with the Office of Research, Faculty, Researchers and other university departments to cultivate a culture or continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring that Penn State remains at the forefront of safety excellence.
